What Thoughtful Medication Management Looks Like

Medication can be a powerful tool in mental health treatment, but finding the right medication and dose is a nuanced process. We start with a thorough review of your history, symptoms, and any previous medication trials. Then we work together to select options that align with your goals and lifestyle.

Regular follow-up appointments (typically 15-30 minutes) allow us to monitor effectiveness, adjust dosages, and manage side effects. Our approach is collaborative, conservative, and always evidence-based.

What Our Medication Management Includes

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation before any prescription
  • Personalized medication selection based on your unique biology and history
  • Regular monitoring for efficacy, side effects, and drug interactions
  • Slow, cautious adjustments to minimize discomfort
  • Coordination with your therapists or primary care providers as needed

Our Approach

How Our Medication Management Works

Clear, collaborative, and thoughtful — we're with you at every step.

1

Initial evaluation (60-90 min) to understand your full clinical picture and determine whether medication is appropriate.

2

Collaborative decision-making about which medication to start, at what dose, and what to watch for.

3

Short follow-up visits (15-30 min) to assess response, adjust treatment, and refill medications as needed.

FAQ

Common Questions About Medication Management

Do I need a separate therapist to receive medication management?
No. We can provide medication management alone. However, for best outcomes, we often encourage combining medication with therapy. We can coordinate with your existing therapist or refer you to one.
How often will I need follow-up appointments?
Initially, we may meet every 2-4 weeks to stabilize your medication. Once stable, many patients transition to monthly or quarterly visits for refills and monitoring.
What conditions do you treat with medication?
We manage medications for depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions.
Can I get a prescription after one visit?
Yes, if clinically appropriate. We may prescribe at the initial evaluation, but only after a thorough assessment and discussion of risks and benefits.
